While Amerika continues its path towards an Orwellian, police-state nightmare, small sections of Honduras are moving as close to libertarian anarcho-capitalism as you can get.
The Honduran government is selling land to an investment group to build an experimental city with no taxes on income, capital gains, and sales.
There will unfortunately be taxes on property, but it will be interesting to see how successful this city will be. Hondurans - of no fault of their own - do not have much experience or history with classical liberalism, markets, and a free society, but you have to start somewhere.
Here's hoping this Honduran experiment in capitalism and voluntary, private organization makes it way north!
